26 DAYS UNTIL MEXICO!!!
We had a great weekend this weekend! Friday we had a wonderful dinner at Wildfire in Eden Prairie with Ben's mom and dad. Ben was gone over Mother's day weekend and wanted to take his mom out for dinner to celebrate that, so Friday it was.
Saturday we ran up to St. Cloud to run some errands and did a little shopping at the mall while we were there. Over the course of Friday and Saturday being out with kids I was told several times (6 times!! but who is counting) that I had a beautiful girl, or I heard "she is so cute" or "how old is she"...and they were NOT talking about Tayah. The first few times I just thought, "Are these people idiots because Collin does not look like a girl what so ever." He is totally dressed like a boy and definitely has little boy features,
I think. So, It was about after comment number six of him being called "her" I decided to go get his hair cut. I had left his hair a little longer on top because he had some adorable curls but I had been cutting his hair around the ears and neckline since he was 9 weeks old. Still very much a boy hair style. But apparently people don't understand that boys can have big blue eyes and curls. So, now there is no mistaking this little boy. Still cute, minus a few curls.
Sunday I met with some mommy friends in St. Louis Park for lunch at Crave. Background Story: Way back in February 2006, just after finding out I was pregnant with Tayah, I joined a mommy forum ,
www.pregnancyweekly.com, with different moms from all over the world who were all due to have babies in October 2006. Well, eventually some of us mommies separated from the larger website and developed our own private forum where we could mommy-talk together about our pregnancy and later our little ones. Today, we all pretty much just catch up on Facebook (gotta love Facebook). So, 5 years later and with almost daily discussions over a common bond of mommy hood, we have gotten to know each other quite well. A few of us mommies from MN have met up before and decided to meet up again on Sunday for lunch. It's pretty cool because we are all about the same age and have similar lives so we have much in common, even if we don't see each other very often. It's a pretty unique relationship as I know other mommies from other states and countries have met up from our group for lunch or play dates. I know some have even met up with mommies from other places as they have traveled on trips. Very cool!! So, here we are: The MN Mommies.
