So last night I went in for yet another ultrasound. Basically we are just keeping up on baby's growth about every 2-4 weeks due to some previous minor alterations in some blood work that I had done way back in the beginning of my pregnancy. Everything up to this point has been checking out perfect with no complaints but it is still nice to get all these extra little checkups on this baby boy. So, baby has been in a breech position since before my 20 week ultrasound. I didn't get really concerned about this until he was still in that position around 30 weeks. I was sorta starting to worry that this baby had settled in there and wasn't going to move, even though my doctor told me not to worry about this quite yet. I basically was trying to avoid the possibility of a C-section for obvious reasons.
So, I was hoping to hear last night that the baby had settled into a down position at my appointment. I have to say I wasn't too hopeful in that because I was still feeling this little round bump at the top of my tummy, which had previously been his head. Well, first thing my doctor said at the ultrasound was, "baby head is down". "It is?", I was a little surprised. My doctor even said at first that she thought that little bump at the top of my tummy was his head too. Turns out it is now his little butt. Hey...they are both round and about the same size. It is an easy mistake. Thank you baby for cooperating!!
He is measuring right in the 55th percentile and is weighing somewhere between 4 and 5 lbs ( I can't remember what it was exactly). So, everything is looking good. Baby is measuring right about average and head is down, everything I wanted to hear. I have another ultrasound in 3 weeks at 36 weeks for another check on him and I am thinking that will probably be my last ultrasound before I get to see him in person. Not too much longer now.

Anniversary Weekend
Well, Ben and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Sorta hard to believe. The weekend started by Tayah going with her aunt Holly on Friday morning with a day of fun planned and to have a sleepover. She had a great time and called a couple times to keep me updated. She seemed to be busy and having a great time. She talked Uncle Justin into buying her a Polly Pocket while she was there. She must have had that planned and just knew she could work the system and get him to buy her one. Stinker! Saturday she went and stayed with my mom (Grandpa was on a golf weekend) since Ben and I had plans for our anniversary Saturday evening and would be home late. So, 2 nights away from mom and dad. She has never been away from us for that long. I think by Sunday morning she was ready to come home and missed mom and dad....as did mom and dad miss her.
Ben and I spent our Saturday in Minneapolis. We did a little shopping, went to dinner at Fogo De Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse . The food was amazing and all you can eat. Waiters come to your table endlessly with skewers of different cuts of meat and 3 different side dishes. They also had an amazing salad bar. Very top notch service and it was right up Ben's alley and he really enjoyed it. Thank God he enjoyed that cause we also saw Kathy Griffin, which whom I really like and enjoy her show on Bravo, but she is NOT Ben's cup of tea. I knew taking Ben to this show was a risk but he seemed open to going but unfortunately it was actually worse for him than I anticipated. I assumed there would be parts that Ben wouldn't care for or wouldn't get because he doesn't follow her show but he pretty much could not enjoy any of it. In fact, I was even a bit disappointed with her comedy act as I felt she got too political in it and I enjoy more of her celebrity act that she does. Yes, she is blunt and crude which is sorta her appeal and what I kinda like about her. She will tell people not to be offended by her because she makes fun of all people, which she does. I still enjoyed her show but it was a little hard to knowing that Ben was uncomfortable and miserable. Let's just say Kathy Griffin is as far to the left as you can go and Ben is so NOT. Like I said, I knew it was a risk in taking Ben to see her and let's just say Ben will be planning our anniversary for next year. Apparently we are going to shoot trap or something next year and I am coming along. I guess I can do that for him. Sorry Ben for weekend, love you anyway!!
Baby Update:
Well, I have another ultrasound scheduled for today. Just another check on the baby. Mostly to check on how the baby is growing. Baby also has been in a breech position for quite a while so we need to check on that too. I feel like he is still in that position as I am sure I can feel his little head at the top of my tummy and most of the kicks that I feel are at the bottom. He still has a few more weeks to turn but he is really starting to make me nervous (FYI: I am 33 weeks this week and babies will typically turn into a head down position between 32 and 36 weeks, although Tayah was head down way early). I'm sorta already trying to process the idea of the possibility of having a C-section. I'm hoping he surprises me and decides to turn last minute but I still need to keep in mind that a C-section may be in order just so I can prepare myself and don't get too disappointed if that is the outcome. I'm not really happy about the thought of having a C-section and fortunately there are a few things we can try in getting him to turn so I am hoping the C-section thing will be done on a last resort basis only. Fingers crossed that he turns soon!!
Update to come.

Father's Day
Last weekend was Father's Day and it was a beautiful day after having a week of rainy, cloudy days. It has been a tradition the last few years to go to my aunt and uncle, Jim and Dawn's cabin, on Lake Augusta in Annandale on Father's day. It's nice cause it is only 20 minutes from home. Tayah had a great time and enjoyed a pontoon ride, swimming, fishing, and a ride on the SUP board (Stand Up Paddle Board). Here are some photos from the day.

We took Bella along and she enjoyed a swim and relaxing in the shade.

Haircut!!
Today was Ben's birthday. Happy Birthday Ben!!! And what did we do...Ben and Tayah went to get haircuts. Tayah had probably 4 or 5 inches cut off. It was more than I thought they were going to cut but it is still really cute. Tayah wore her hair this length for a long time and then we started growing it out for a while. I was sad to see all her hair cut off but her hair is so thick and she has so much curl and wave to it that it doesn't take long to look like such a mess. I know this will make it be way easier to comb in the morning. Nice for summer too!!
Dance Recital...Success!!
Well, this weekend was the dance recital. Like, I said, I was nervous cause you just never know what kind of mood a 3 year old will be in. Well, we lucked out and it went just fine!! We had practice in the morning which was sorta a test to see if she could get on the stage without getting too shy or nervous. She was able to do that with no problem so I felt better that she was going to be able to do the recital. Her and the other girls (6 girls total in her class) waited backstage with a mom volunteer and they colored and we brought our little DVD player, and non-messy snacks to pass the time away. The girls were so cute. They were the littlest ones of the recital so they are always the most fun to watch. I will post the video I took of the recital shortly. Here are a few photos of the day....and like I promised her if she tried really hard and didn't cry, she was able to go to Target today and pick a prize. She picked a little robotic bunny with a carrying case that moves and makes noises. It was between that and a Barbie for her, she chose the bunny.

Getting hair and makeup done.

It's Showtime!!

All the girls back on stage for awards and round of applause.

30 Weeks!!! YIKES...Getting down to the Wire.
Well, here I am at 30 weeks. I thought it would hit me by now that I will be having #2 very soon, but it really hasn't yet. Not sure when that will happen but I guess I am ready. The room is set, crib is up, there are bottles (thanks Alicia), clothes, and diapers in the closet. We are working on the name thing. I guess that is all I can do for now. We have Tayah's big dance recital on Saturday. I think I am more nervous about this then she is. I just don't want her to be the kid that runs off the stage crying. But I am giving her the benefit of the doubt in that she is one of the youngest, if not the youngest ones in her class. I think most of the other girls have already turned 4 and she will not until October. It is okay to bribe her, right? Cause I am. I told her that if she does a really good job, tries really hard, and doesn't cry that she can pick out anything she wants at Target. Now you would think this would be a dangerous thing to tell her but she said, "Yay, I want a Princess Barbie". A 15.00 Barbie will be much worth the cost if it helps her get through it and keeps her eye on the prize. We've had many discussions about being on a big stage with lots of people watching and she is still okay with that. I think the only reason I am really nervous is that last Friday we had dance pictures and she was crabby and tired and threw a big fit and refused to take dance pictures with her class. Granted, it was 7:00 at night and like I said...crabby and tired does not go well together when you are trying to get a 3 year old to do something that YOU, THE MOM wants them to do. Oh well!! We can get pictures at the recital. The recital is at 4:00 so it should be early enough that we won't have hit the wall quite yet. Let's hope.

Wonderful Weekend
This last weekend was shower weekend for me. Saturday, Holly and I had a wedding shower for Katie at my house. It turned out great and we had a really nice turn out. Katie received a lot of really nice gifts to put in her and Jason's new house. Sunday, I had a baby shower for my best friend Alicia (Photos to come) who is due to have her first baby (girl) on July 24 (Jason and Katie's wedding day). She had a great turn out as well and received a lot of the things that she NEEDS for the baby, which was really nice. After I got home on Sunday, Ben decided he wanted to take his little boat out for spin as he is selling it and wanted to make sure everything was working as it should. So, Tayah and I went along for a ride. It was a nice little ride after a busy weekend.

Ultrasound Update
Everything went well at the checkup. I am measuring right on for 29 weeks. We got an ultrasound to check the baby's size. Everything is looking good in that department as well. He is measuring around 3.3 lbs and in the 65th percentile for size. So...he is slightly bigger than average (not a bad thing, right?) Right now he is sitting in a breech position. My doctor said not to worry about this but I have to say I am slightly worried about this because I know Tayah was in position fairly early on. I asked her at what point should this be a concern and she said she would like to see him head in the down position by 35 weeks. I sure as hope he does a somersault and turns...SOON!!! That's about it. We did get a picture but it didn't turn out that well. I go back in 2 weeks for a regular checkup and then for another ultrasound 2 weeks after that.
10 weeks to go!!!

Baby Update
Just want to congratulate Ryan and Abby Kleinschmidt!! Their twins were born yesterday morning at 6:14 a.m.
Baby Boy and Baby Girl were both 6 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 3/4 inches. Mom and babies are doing great! Can't wait to hear what those little ones names are....still undecided. Hope to meet them very soon.
As for me, I will be 29 weeks tomorrow (less than 11 weeks to go...hopefully less and not more than that) and have an ultrasound scheduled for Friday!! I am anxious as I am hoping they will give me some good news about the size of this little guy and hoping he is starting to get into position. Will update on that later.
Oh.. and we have added another name to our list. I knew we weren't done with this name thing. So, we are deciding between 2 names now (both names start with the same letter (hint, hint)). I am leaving the final decision on Ben.
Throwing a baby shower and wedding shower this weekend!! Busy, busy. Having a wedding shower for my soon to be sister in law, Katie, at my house on Saturday. Sunday I am throwing a baby shower for my best friend, Alicia, at her house. Looking forward to both of them.
