Happy Memorial Day!!

I just want to say that I LOVE 3 day weekends!! We have had a wonderful weekend and it isn't even over yet. Saturday Ben worked on landscaping in our backyard, filling our back play area with some playground mulch and putting edging and landscaping around the outside of the fence as well. Our back yard consists mostly of some wetlands and cattails and we are creatively trying to dress it up a bit without getting the city too upset with us by disturbing the so called "wetlands". It still needs some work but it is a start. Tayah and I supervised and enjoyed the warm sun by soaking up the rays in the kiddie pool and sprinkler. Sunday Ben and I went to the new Target Field to watch the Twins play the Texas Rangers. The new stadium was AMAZING and we had AWESOME seats, 6 rows up behind Twins dugout. It was a great time with our friends Levi and Stephanie. Today I am hoping that Ben is recuperated enough to finish the landscaping project. Hopefully I can post photos of the final project soon. Bath Time

Well, today reached about 93 and very humid on top of that. I let Tayah take her bath in the sprinkler after supper today. This was her first time this summer to get to play in the sprinkler. She had a great time and said, "This is awesome." Here is some video that I took of her having fun. HELLO SUMMER!

I'm a Goof!!

Hello Monday!! It is officially starting to feel like SUMMER!! I'm liking it. It is supposed to be around 90 today and unfortunately our air isn't working the greatest. So of course I have a call into the air conditioning guy on the first hot day of the year and I am sure he is bombarded by calls as people are probably just turning on the air for the first time. I hope he calls me back soon. I decided I am not going to spend months 7, 8, 9 with an air conditioner that only kinda works. Here is Tayah this morning, ready for the HEAT and being a GOOF!!

Dance Practice for Recital

Tayah had dance last night so I took some video of them practicing their routine and warming up.

Dance Recital- June 12th

Tayah has been taking dance and gymnastics for most of the year with a class of 3 and 4 year olds. She takes a 55 minutes class once a week where about the first 25 minutes they do tap and ballet and then the rest of the class consists of gymnastics in the gym area. The place where she goes is primarily a gymnastics school so that really is the focus of the class. My concern is that they just recently started working on the dance routine for the big recital that goes on June 12th. The girls do pretty well following along with the teacher during practice but when it comes to recital night my understanding is that the teacher will not be there to show the girls the next move. I'm just not sure that this group of 3 and 4 year olds will be able to get it together by the time of recital night. They will sorta be on there own that night as far as having to remember the routine. So there is really no telling what will be performed on recital night. Ben tells me that is sorta the point with the group of little ones and it is just cute to see them in their costumes standing on stage . Tayah and I have talked about what will go on for the recital and that people will be watching her and she will be on a big stage to perform her dance and she seems okay with that, for now, anyway. We are inviting the grandparents and keeping the audience members to a minimum this year, just for the fact that we may want to wait and invite more people to her next performance when there may actually be more of a performance. I bet we will still get cute pictures though.

Onto week 27

Well, I had my 26 week doctors appointment yesterday. It was my glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. So, at my last appointment, about a month ago, they sent me home with my glucose drink which I was to drink an hour before my appointment yesterday, which I did, and then go in to check my blood to see if in fact I have gestational diabetes. Well, I got a call last night and everything checked out just fine in that department. I wasn't too worried about there being an issue but still good to know. I also saw my doctor last night in which she measured my tummy for the first time to see if in fact I am measuring on track, and I am, I am measuring right at 27 weeks. Heartbeat was 155 last night. I go back in 2 weeks to get an ultrasound to check the baby's size. This was recommended after I had some off levels in some blood results way early on. Nobody is too concerned about the size but it is just merely to be overly cautious with everything. Plus I don't mind getting another look at that baby to see how much he has grown. I will be doing the ultrasounds about every 4 weeks after that. And then at 36 weeks they will start hooking me up to a monitor during my appointments to check the baby's movements and things. So, that was the update I got last night. Everything is going well and I am feeling really good. They only thing that is getting tiring is going up and down those stairs all day. I tell myself it is good exercise. We also started working on the baby room. It is coming together. I set the crib up so that is all set. I also refinished an old dresser that was in there before that Tayah is no longer using. Here are some pictures of the work in progress and a few more.

Please Don't Disturb

This is Tyke this morning and every morning after everyone gets up and gets ready for work. It's a tough life but somebody's gotta do it.

New Room

Well, Night 1 of sleeping in the new room went PERFECT. Tayah has a new room downstairs and we have been slowly moving her stuff into her room so the new baby can have her old room, since that room is right next to Ben and my room. However, this meant our first baby would have to sleep downstairs by herself. Well, she was excited to get a new "Big Girl Room"and we decided we would give it a try last night. I laid with her in her bed for a little bit until she was comfortable. She wanted me to stay and sleep downstairs with her but I explained how I needed to sleep in my bed and she quickly warmed up to the idea. We had a night light on in her room and in the bathroom next to her room. I also had a monitor on in her room so I could hear her in case she got scared. So, I laid with her for a bit and then told her that I was going to go upstairs for a bit and that I would be back to check on her. She was okay with that. So I went upstairs and got ready for bed and then went to go check on her when I was done and she was already fast asleep. I expected a wake up call at some point during the night but NOPE...and we are still asleep as we speak. Now we just have her dresser and the rest of her clothes to move down and then I can start getting the baby room put together. My goal was to have her sleeping in her new room by June so she was used to it by the time the baby arrived. It looks like that will work out just fine. Baby Chicks and Ducks

My aunt Christa received her baby chicks in the mail yesterday. So of course we had to go see them. She also picked up two baby ducks over the weekend as well, which we also got to see. Tayah fell in love with the chicks and crawled right inside their metal bin they were temporarily staying in.

Innie or an Outie?

Well, I can tell baby boy Cade is definitely getting bigger and starting to take up more room in my tummy. I know this because last week I noticed my innie is now an outie, my belly button that is. I really don't remember that happening with Tayah but I could have possibly blocked that out of my memory for some reason. But the funny thing is Tayah also noticed that my belly button has changed. Last night we were getting ready for bed and getting our jammies on and she notices my belly and starts singing to herself "mommy has a baby in her tummy." Then she takes a closer look and says "Mom. Look. You have a big belly button." "Yes, Tayah. Thank you. I did in fact notice that." Nothing like a 3 year old to keep it real for you. Gotta love it.

Mother's day is a week from today!! Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day.
