Collin has never shown much interest in TV, as of yet. Tayah at this age, I hate to say it but she could have watched Telletubbies or Baby Einstein for hours (No...we didn't let her watch it for hours but I'm just saying she COULD have.) Collin today had woke up from his nap and I set him down with Sesame Street on in the background while I was making lunch. I didn't think much of it until I noticed after about 5 minutes he was being so quiet (Ding, Ding, Ding...quiet baby..something is wrong.) This is how he was. How does Elmo do this to kids?

Back from PARADISE!!
We had a great vacation!! It was 4 days of relaxation and beautiful weather and scenery. It was nice to be at an all inclusive, to arrive and have all our food and drinks covered. Everyone treated us so well. We got some great photos and since we were celebrating Ben's 30th birthday along with our 7 year itch anniversary we had some professional photos taken at the resort by VALENTINA!! She was a younger gal (early 20's) from Argentina. She spoke very little English, about as much as I speak Spanish (muy poco espanol) but she did a FABULOUS job and some how got us positioned and posed in just the right angle to get the perfect photo. She was AWESOME!! We had a great time but happy to be home to see the kids. Enjoy the sideshow!

HEAT WAVE
So in preparation for the sweltering heat of Mexcio, Minnesota has decided to give us a couple scorchers this week. A couple 95 degree days, no problem. Well, it is a problem when your air conditioning is NOT working...again (See similar post around July 2010). Yes, our air conditioning fan went out again. The only good thing is it is under warranty since it has been less than a year since it was replaced. We have been waiting for the part for almost 2 weeks and of course it decided to heat up THIS week. But since we had snow into May I don't feel like I have the right to complain. Right? The air guy promises me he will have the part in today. So, in the meantime we are getting by the best we can. Mostly just planting ourselves in the basement where it is cool.

Do you see my ticker.....5 MORE DAYS!!
5 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Could I be more excited? NO. (I'm excited but still a little worried how the kids will do away from us for that long. A little guilt about leaving them.)
But officially I will be on vacation in 4 more days. Friday night, after work, we will drop the kids of at my parents and we are heading to Bloomington to spend the night at hotel and take a shuttle to the airport Saturday morning. We have dinner reservations for Seven Sushi in Minneapolis on Friday night. Perfect start to our few days of RELAXATION. Happy 30th Ben!!
We should be good to go. Ben has been getting over a cold for 2 weeks and is now on antibiotics to get over whatever he has so he isn't sick on vacation.

Ducks
We have a family of ducks coming to visit our pond. They have been there a few times so I am hoping they will stay. Mama Duck has her wings full with quite a few little ones. It is nice to see!! I was just telling Ben how I would like to get baby ducks and raise them in our pond for the summer. Maybe I won't have to. They are just so fuzzy and cute right now.

Amber Teething Necklace
Collin has been teething for some time now and isn't handling it very well, unfortunately. Tayah was a great teether in comparison. I actually had no idea that it could be so bad. It was suggested to get Collin an Amber necklace which is supposed to help with the pain. I knew a couple other parents who had their babies wear amber necklaces during teething and said it helped. I was leery of the idea but got to the point that I was willing to try just about anything. So, Collin got his necklace in the mail yesterday. He's only worn it for a short period of time so far but I will definitely report any changes I see. I hope it helps.
About Amber:
Amber is not a “stone” but a natural resin. So as it warms with the body’s natural temperature, amber releases its healing oils (these oils contain succinic acid )which are easily absorbed into the skin and then into the bloodstream. Baltic Amber has some of the highest concentrations of Succinic Acid found in nature, and this is what makes it so special. Succinic Acid is a natural component of plant and animal tissues, and it's presence in the human body is beneficial in many ways.
Amber is also known to reduce inflammation of the throat, ear and stomach and to fight irritation, infections and respiratory disease as it dramatically improves the body’s immunity. Natural amber beaded necklaces are a completely non-invasive remedy for side effects associated with teething, such as lack of appetite, upset tummies, ear ache, fevers and colds. Baltic amber is also a natural analgesic that will calm your child and is recognized by allopathic medicine specialists as antispasmodic and anti-fever. Many adults report improvement of arthritis discomfort in their hands when wearing amber on the wrists.
