8 months old!!

Well somewhere between turning 6 months and now I got an 8 month old. I think I may have missed a month somewhere?

Collin:
-He LOVES to eat, although you wouldn't know it for how little he is.
-He can feed himself and wants to eat whatever you are eating.
-Still no teeth even though he has seemed to be teething for the last 4 months. COME ON TEETH!
-He can sit by himself although he doesn't like to for long. He would rather be on his belly moving.
-He is trying to figure out crawling and will get up on his knees.
-Moved into a big boy car-seat.
-Size 3 diapers
-Size 9 months clothes and some 12 month things.
-Very easy going personality and goes with the flow.
-Hardly makes a fuss unless it is necessary. (Tired, Hungry, Diaper)
-Generally a quiet kid but will raise his voice and yell at times.
-I should add....very much a mama's boy (and I don't like that a bit, okay, maybe a little). He has learned how to fake cry when he sees me walk out of the room. I'm joking with my dad that I may be continuing the tradition of going to kindergarten with him for the first week. It's funny now but just talk to fellow mama's boy, my dad. The school thing is no joke.

Here are a few photos of the kids getting ready for bed from the other night.

I EAT

Collin learned how to feed himself little snacks. So here is video of him enjoying some Cheerios and some Gerber Yogurt Melts. Sorry I took this video sideways.

Half Way There

No, this is not a workout blog but I just have to give a quick update. We have almost completed half of the program, which is further than I ever thought I would make it. We are just finishing up week 6 and have 7 weeks to go. Going into this was all Ben's idea. This was something Ben wanted to do and I was supportive to that. He talked me into doing this workout with him. I said I would "try" it but wasn't confident it was something I would like or could stick to. Well, it is working, for both of us. Ben promised a shopping spree in the end of this program if I stuck to it, which was not really much of a motivating factor for me but if was a nice incentive.

I have officially reached my weightloss goal as of today. I have been stuck  at the same weight for the last 3 weeks so I was quite shocked when I stepped on the scale today and it was down 2.2 lbs. I could go for 3 more lbs. as my goal is for a lean and toned/athletic look. As of today I am down 8 lbs. and 2 sizes. Ben, get your credit card ready because we are going shopping (both of us)!!

Also, want to congratulate my good friend Barb and her husband Ben. They welcomed their first baby this week. Baby girl Haylen Jean. 7lbs 14 oz. and 21 inches. Can't wait to meet her!!

Turning 30 and the 7 Year Itch!!

I officially booked Ben and my vacation for June. We are headed to Riviera Maya, Mexico. I wanted to do something special for Ben's 30th Birthday in June so a trip was in order since we have not been on vacation together since our honeymoon seven years ago. Ben and I also celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary 2 weeks after Ben's birthday. So we will be gone 4 nights/3 days right over Ben's birthday, June 11-14. I think that should be the perfect time away as I don't want to be away from the kids for too long and have yet to be away from Collin. We are fortunate to have just taken a vacation with the kids, which was wonderful but it is hard to sit and relax or even enjoy a meal when you have 2 kids to tend for. So this is a kid free, adults only vacation (even an adults only resort) where I plan to lay by the pool and beach with a drink in my hand. That and we have never been anywhere to Mexico before.Yay!! Let the countdown begin.

Our resort we will be staying in Mexico.

Week 6

Just thought I would drop a quick update on the workouts. We are still at them and things are going well. Getting EXCELLENT results from both Ben and I. We are starting week 6 this week. We re-did week 5 last week because we slacked on the workouts while on vacation. Hey, we were on vacation, right? I think Ben got 3 days of workouts in while on vacation and I think I got half of an ab workout in. We both didn't gain any weight while on vacation so we were able to jump back into the workout routine fairly easily when we got home. Ben is looking awesome!! He is the lowest he can ever remember being and is looking cut and muscular. I'm also at the lowest I can ever remember being and have almost reached my goal weight. My goal is to get below a certain group of numbers because I can't ever remember being in that weight category and I'm about a pound away from being there. I'm noticing muscles in my stomach and shoulders and arm. At this point we are both just continuing to eat healthy and not worrying about how many calories we take in and just eating when we are hungry. I think the biggest thing I have gained out of doing this is finding a workout and schedule that works for me and enjoying living a healthy lifestyle. I actually enjoy working out now which I can honestly say I never have before. I'm already looking into a new workout program for when I am done with P90x. I'm thinking something fun and upbeat. I would love to take a Zumba class but have yet to find a class that is offered in the area so I may attempt at trying it at home.

Here is my workout schedule for weeks 5-7

Day 1         Core
Day 2         Cardio
Day 3         Chest, Shoulder, Tricepts and Abs
Day 4         Yoga
Day 5         Legs and Back, Abs
Day 6         Kenpo
Day 7         Rest

We are home!!

We are home from our 10 day vacation. We traveled 11 states (Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi). We had a great time and the kids did GREAT traveling in the car. Here are some photos. I'll let them do the talking. ENJOY!

First stop- Nashville. Collin rested up after a long drive.
We arrived at about 5 a.m. so we were all a bit tired.
Later that afternoon we took a walk in downtown Nashville.
But then later we took off again and on our way to Florida. Here we are somewhere south of Atlanta. Midnight pit stop for a bathroom break and to put on jammies.
Eventually we arrived in Florida to our condo.
We spent much of the time by the pool.
85 degrees everyday with blue skies and sun. It was perfect!

Tayah played in the sand all afternoon. She loved it.
But eventually it was time to head home and we did our best to get comfy in the car.
We made a stop in Memphis on our way home to rest up. And while we were there we went to visit Graceland.

T-A-Y-A-H..what does that spell?

I found this on the wall between the kitchen and the living room. I wonder who could have done this??? Thank goodness it was just pencil.
